The E.T. Horn Company Sponsors Chemistry Kit Distribution
To Local Elementary Schools

La Mirada, CA – January 31, 2005 - The E.T. Horn Company, a leading distributor/supplier of specialty chemicals, today announced that it has sponsored the donation of the Chemical Educational Foundation’s (CEF) You Be The Chemist kits to elementary schools in the Norwalk La Mirada Unified School District.

“We greatly appreciate the generous donation by the E.T. Horn Company and are excited about the learning opportunities for our students,” said Chris Cosgrove, Area Superintendent for the Norwalk La Mirada USD. She added, “Our Board of Education and district are committed to providing the best instructional strategies for our teachers and administrators.”

The You Be The Chemist kit, designed for grades K-8, was created as a teacher’s aid, and it helps make chemistry concepts fun and easy for students and educators alike. The kit includes thirty lesson plans; a teacher’s manual, homework assignments, and a resource guide for chemical industry representatives. The educational kit is the result of more than a year of research and development by CEF staff and collaborating organizations.
