Lisa
Alley-Zarkades Appointed to E.T. Horn Board
of Directors
La
Mirada, CA – February 8, 2006
- The E.T. Horn Company, a leading distributor,
supplier, marketer, and manufacturer of specialty
chemical products, today announced that Lisa
Alley-Zarkades has been appointed to its
Board of Directors. As the reigning Vice President
of the company’s FoodTech Group, she will
replace Kevin Salerno, former president of E.T.
Horn’s Nutraceuticals Group. Comprised
of company veterans and senior executives, the
existing board will be complemented with her
tenacious leadership skills and expertise in
the company’s rapidly expanding Functional
Foods product category.

a career spanning over twenty years, Alley-Zarkades’
primary technical focus has been in starch
chemistry, having previously worked at both
A.E. Staley and Avebe America. In 1994,
she returned to the E.T. Horn Company with
a visionary approach and spearheaded the
company’s expansion to providing solutions
for food related industries. |

J. Marantette, E.T. Horn President, said that
Ms. Alley-Zarkades’ breadth of technical
knowledge and interpersonal skills will have
an immediate impact on the employee-owned company’s
board and subsequently to its customer base.
“Lisa is the consummate professional and
her skill sets will no doubt provide a beneficial
boost to the board’s planning and strategy
sessions,” Marantette added.
A
Summa Cum Laude graduate of California Polytech
University, Pomona, Lisa is an active participant
and supporter of the southern California food
industry through various trade organizations
and is a Professional Member of the Institute
of Food Technologists (IFT). “I am both
delighted and eager to be a member of E.T. Horn’s
Board, and anticipate our business to flourish
under its guidance,” Alley-Zarkades said.
“With the current board members, I believe
we’ll be able to lead our company well
into the future and provide the solutions our
loyal customers and supplier partners have come
to expect from us,” she concluded.
A
resident of southern Orange County, CA, Ms.
Alley-Zarkades is an avid equestrian and animal
rights advocate, having dedicated countless
hours to the benefit of pets in her community.
Together with her husband, she enjoys walking
her dogs along the beach and adventure traveling.
